Biden Sparks Debate by Calling for Trump to be ‘Politically Locked Up’
In a bold statement made just two weeks before the presidential election, President Joe Biden suggested that former President Donald Trump should be “locked up,” though he quickly clarified that he meant it “politically.” Speaking to a group of New Hampshire Democrats on October 22, Biden made the comment while critiquing Trump’s proposals for a second term.
The remark drew immediate comparisons to Trump’s 2016 campaign, where supporters frequently chanted “Lock her up” in reference to Hillary Clinton.
Trump has denied encouraging those chants, claiming his supporters voiced them on their own.
Following Biden’s comments, the Trump campaign fired back, accusing Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of political persecution.
Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, called on Harris to condemn Biden’s remarks, arguing that the administration’s actions were an attempt to undermine democracy.

“Rather than play the ostrich and cover up clear terrorism as mere farmer-herder clashes, the Nigerian state has a responsibility to invade the camps of armed marauders who hide under the cloak of herdsmen of whatever ethnicity, and who invade defenceless communities and gleefully massacre unarmed men, women and children.”
