Boko Haram Attacks Borno Military Base and Kills Dozens of Soldiers
Boko Haram insurgents have launched a devastating assault on a military base in Sabon Gari, Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, leaving dozens of soldiers and vigilantes dead and seizing military weapons.
The attack, which happened on Saturday around 4 p.m., was confirmed by security and local sources on Monday.
According to reports, the insurgents, armed with sophisticated weapons, attacked in large numbers, overwhelming the troops despite a strong defensive effort.
A security source described the incident as one of the deadliest attacks the base had faced, revealing that the insurgents not only killed many personnel but also looted all military equipment.
“The base has survived over 100 attacks in the past, but this was catastrophic.
They killed soldiers and vigilantes, seized weapons, and destroyed operational vehicles and buildings,” the source explained.
Reports also indicate that the insurgents used a surveillance drone to gather intelligence before the attack.
“Initially, we thought the drone was part of a routine military operation,” the source added.

NATPAN Calls For Federal Government to Deal With Tomato Post-Harvest Losses
The National Tomato Growers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria (NATPAN) requests the Federal Government to reduce post-harvest losses of the produce.
The chairman of NATPAN, Rabiu Zuntu stated on Tuesday that the government inference will cut down the post-harvest losses.
“Most farmers cannot afford loans for this equipment to aid reduction of post-harvest losses because they are smallholder farmers. The government can help tomato farmers reduce post-harvest losses by coming to their aid with interventions.”
“With the use of plastic crates for the transportation of tomatoes from one part of Nigeria to the other, the rate of post-harvest losses will be reduced.”
