Brymo Slams Bride Price, Calls for Legal Abortion
Nigerian singer Brymo has criticized the tradition of paying bride price, arguing that it symbolizes the transfer of ownership over women rather than respecting their autonomy.
In an Instagram story on August 23, 2024, he reflected on a movie scene that solidified his belief that the practice treats women as property. Brymo expressed his refusal to participate in this tradition, emphasizing that women are not possessions to be owned.
Brymo also advocated for the legalization of abortion to reduce child abandonment. He argued that legal abortions would ensure that those who choose to have children are legally bound to raise them, preventing adults from abandoning their responsibilities.
Nollywood actress, Lizzy Gold Onuwaje reportedly lost her father on Boxing Day, 2026. The actress took to social media and shared a tribute to her father, describing it as her greatest fear.
