Carlo Ancelotti Explains Real Madrid 5-2 Loss to Barcelona in Super Cup Final
Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has opened up about his team’s 5-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final, played at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Los Blancos got off to a dream start when Kylian Mbappé found the back of the net just five minutes into the game.
However, Barcelona quickly took control, turning the tide with a dominant display.
Lamine Yamal leveled the score in the 22nd minute, showcasing his talent under the guidance of Barcelona manager Hansi Flick.
By halftime, the Catalan giants were in full command, with Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Alejandro Balde adding their names to the scoresheet, making it 4-1.
Reflecting on the match, Ancelotti admitted his team’s defensive struggles were their undoing.
“We didn’t defend well, whether pressing high or sitting back,” he said in the post-match press conference.
“They scored too easily. We lost key duels and failed both individually and collectively.”
He expressed disappointment, “It’s a tough loss to take.
We’re sad and disappointed, and we’ll carry that with us. But this is football—it demands we learn and move forward.”

The player shared in an interview “An individual who claims to be sorry but justifies a punch as a reaction to a comment is certainly not sincere in their apology, as they are deceiving themselves. I did not provoke him, so there is no need for him to apologize.”
He added “What truly characterizes us is not the error itself, but the bravery to admit it with humility, honesty, and dignity, especially when my children, my family, and all the fans are watching the game.”
Former Real Madrid player Karim Benzema shares his thoughts on the potential appointment of Zinedine Zidane as the new France manager, expressing his happiness for him.
He shared in a recent interview “Am I pleased that Zidane is the new coach of France? I cannot say for certain if it will be him, but if it is, YES, I AM TRULY HAPPY. He is a legend, he is like a big brother to me.”
While France has not yet confirmed their new manager, Zidane remains a strong candidate.
It has been reported that Liverpool turned down the opportunity to sign Real Madrid star Vinícius Júnior.
It can be noted that two teams have set their sights on the player, and since Liverpool has backed out, Arsenal are now interested in him.
Vinícius notably only has one year left on his Real Madrid contract and could possibly transfer to another team.
