Carragher Says Chelsea Will Miss Out as He Predicts Premier League Top Five
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has shared his picks for the Premier League top five finish this season, and he doesn’t see Chelsea making the cut.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Carragher predicted that Liverpool, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, and Manchester City will take the top five spots, leaving out Chelsea and Aston Villa.
He explained that Chelsea’s tough remaining fixtures could hurt their chances, while Newcastle’s game in hand gives them the edge.
“Newcastle will make it, and I think Man City will just squeeze in alongside Liverpool and Arsenal,” he said. “With the fixtures ahead, City should win all four, even with their struggles this season. I think Aston Villa will fall just short.”
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick sends out a message that he needs more players before the summer transfer window ends.
He revealed in a recent interview “We want more, we need more, we keep looking for how we can do that. Money’s money, I understand that. We believe we must strive for success in every competition we participate in, while remaining realistic about our recent history over time.
“For now, we must maximise our current situation, but we need to push every limit possible to achieve victory again, essentially. That is the challenge.”
