Charli XCX and George Daniel Get Married in a Quiet London Ceremony
British pop star Charli XCX has officially tied the knot with George Daniel, the drummer of The 1975. The wedding took place quietly on July 19 in London, far from the usual celebrity fanfare. The couple exchanged vows at Hackney Town Hall, keeping it small and personal. Only about 20 to 30 close friends and family members were in attendance.
Charli wore a short white off-shoulder dress, paired with a veil and her signature sunglasses. George went for a dark formal suit with a white flower pinned to his chest. Their relationship began as a creative collaboration. They first worked together in 2021 on the track Spinning. By 2022, their relationship was public.
Over time, George also helped produce several songs on Charli’s latest album, Brat, including Club Classics and Apple. In November 2023, they shared the news of their engagement with a cheeky Instagram caption that read: “charli xcx and george daniel f—ing for life.”
While the wedding was intentionally simple, it’s not the only celebration they’re planning. A second ceremony is already in the works, this time in Sicily. According to sources close to the couple, it’ll be a much bigger celebration, more like a party than a formal wedding. Charli once mentioned that they’re not fans of tradition and just want a fun night with friends.
