Chelsea Midfielder Romeo Lavia Suffers Injury Setback and Will Miss Tottenham Clash
Chelsea have been dealt a fresh injury setback ahead of their Premier League clash with Tottenham on Thursday.
Midfielder Romeo Lavia has suffered another injury, ruling him out of the game at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca confirmed that the 21-year-old picked up a setback during training just days before the match.
“He was making progress, but unfortunately, he had a small issue recently. We’ll have to assess him in the coming hours,” Maresca said.
Lavia, who joined Chelsea from Southampton in 2023, has struggled with injuries since arriving at the club, limiting his playing time.
It has been reported that Liverpool turned down the opportunity to sign Real Madrid star Vinícius Júnior.
It can be noted that two teams have set their sights on the player, and since Liverpool has backed out, Arsenal are now interested in him.
Vinícius notably only has one year left on his Real Madrid contract and could possibly transfer to another team.
It can be noted that Karim Adeyemi, a Nigerian football player, just signed with Barcelona and shared his reason behind joining the team. He stated that it was because of Hansi Flick.
He shared how he wants to contribute to the club and admires the coach for making that possible.
“Hansi Flick is the main reason why I’m here. I have spoken a lot with him and have trusted him greatly from the very first moment. I’m willing to help to achieve the objectives.”
