Chidimma Adetshina Joins Miss Universe Nigeria
Miss South Africa contestant Chidimma Adetshina, who faced controversy over her nationality, has now joined the Miss Universe Nigeria competition, representing Taraba State. Chidimma, born in 2001 at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, has an Igbo father and a Mozambican mother who became a naturalized South African citizen.
Amid the controversy surrounding her participation in Miss South Africa, which led to an investigation by the South African Ministry of Home Affairs, Chidimma withdrew from the competition. She accepted an invitation to compete in the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria pageant instead. The organisers introduced her as Miss Taraba, contestant number 25, on their official site, announcing her participation.
