Neymar Jr. has revealed who he believes is the true king of football, and it’s not Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

Days after Ronaldo declared himself the greatest footballer of all time, Neymar made it clear that, for him, there’s only one king—Brazilian legend “Pelé”.

Speaking with The Grefg, the 33-year-old said, “It’s not that I didn’t want to be a king, it’s that for me there is only one king, and that is Pelé.”

Reflecting on his own career, Neymar admitted that injuries have affected his journey, but he remains grateful. “Many things happened. I had many injuries that cost me a lot, but that’s how God wanted it. I have no reason to be sad. I am very happy with my story and my life.”

After years in Europe and a stint with Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, Neymar recently returned to Santos, the club where his career began. Since rejoining, he has played six matches, scoring twice and providing three assists.

“You Can’t Have Nine Goalkeepers and Not Know Your Number One” – Cole Criticizes Chelsea

Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has criticized the club’s goalkeeper transfer strategy, calling it fundamentally flawed.

Speaking on the Dressing Room podcast, Cole questioned how a club could have as many as nine goalkeepers and still struggle to identify a clear first-choice.

“There’s something systematically wrong because you can’t have nine goalkeepers on your books and not know which one is your number one,” he said.

Chelsea currently have four goalkeepers in their first-team squad: Robert Sanchez (27), Flip Jorgensen (22), Lucas Bergstrom (22), and Marcus Bettinelli (32). Meanwhile, Djordje Petrovic (25) and Kepa Arrizabalaga (30) are out on loan, and Genk’s Mike Penders (19) is set to join in 2025.

Cole believes the club’s recruitment policy for goalkeepers has been mismanaged. “If your system works well, you shouldn’t make as many mistakes that have been made with goalkeepers,” he added.
