Ckay Opens Up About Not Smiling And Relates His Emotions to His Work

Nigerian Singer, Ckay expresses his thought on the comments about him smiling. He states that he does not feel the need to show happiness, hence not smiling in pictures or in general. This was brought up during an interview in Afrobeats Intelligence podcast hosted by Joey Akan. The host compliments Ckay’s smile and he disclose that he has been told he has a nice smile.
The host then asks further questions regarding this, “When people describe how you smile, what do they say? What’s the most repetitive or recurring review of your smile?”.
The singer replies that he has been told he has a mice smile and should smile but reflects that he is not exactly in a happy place regarding his album and tries to portray his emotions in his work.
“There are moments to smile and moments of reality; positive and negative emotions happen to a person, so I say making music only about the positive things, it won’t be realistic. For someone like me making art has to represent the positives and negatives for it to be authentic.”
