“Consent Matters” – Aniebiet Francis Urges Women to Stand Against Forced Intimacy
Nigerian director and actress Aniebiet Francis has spoken out against forced intimacy, stating that women should never be pressured into having sex, whether in a relationship or marriage.
She said “As a woman, any sex you do not like constitutes sex slavery. When you are emotionally, intellectually, and financially empowered, you will have the audacity to choose when you want to have sex and how your body should be treated throughout it.”
She added “Even your husband shouldn’t force sex on you when you are not up for it or try new things with your body without your consent and approval.”

Nigerian rapper Falz has reacted to comments made by Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, regarding the pressure of governing the country.
It can be recalled that the First Lady said young Nigerians should support the government, adding that those in leadership are under pressure.
Reacting to her remarks, Falz said “What do you mean, pressure on the government? Did anyone beg you to take up this work?
“If I remember clearly, the campaign slogan for this current administration was ‘Emi Lokan.’ Do you know what that translates to in English? It is my turn. I’ve never seen anything more absurd than that in my entire life.”

Nigerian filmmaker Funke Akindele has spoken about her admiration for Tyler Perry, revealing that his work has inspired her journey as a filmmaker.
She explained that watching his movies and seeing the characters he created motivated her creatively and encouraged her to keep growing.
