Cristiano Ronaldo’s uncle, Jorge Viveiros, experienced a harrowing incident on Wednesday when he was struck by a car while riding his motorbike.
The unfortunate accident happened in Saint Helier, the bustling capital of the island of Jersey, where Viveiros was hit by the vehicle under unclear circumstances.
According to reports from Jornal da Madeira, emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance.
Firefighters were among the first responders and played a vital role in attending to Viveiros.
After stabilizing him on-site, he was rushed to the hospital for further evaluation and medical care.
The severity of the situation initially caused concern, but after spending time under observation, Viveiros was discharged and allowed to return home to recover.
Jorge Viveiros is the brother of Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, and is known to have a strong bond with the family.
Ronaldo, who has always expressed deep affection for his family, would understandably have been distressed upon hearing about the accident.
The star footballer often speaks about how his upbringing in Madeira and his family have shaped his life and career, with his mother being a particularly influential figure.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has been intensely focused on his football commitments.
Ronaldo is currently preparing for Al-Nassr’s next Saudi Pro League match against Al-Qadsia on Friday.
