Cross River Police Arrest Six Suspected Ambazonian Rebels, Seize Weapons and Explosives

The Cross River State Police Command has arrested six suspected Ambazonian rebels in Akamkpa Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson Ewa Igri, on October 19, 2024, described the operation as a breakthrough following intelligence reports. The suspects, aged 18 to 36, were found with weapons, explosives, charms, and flags linked to the separatist movement.
Ambazonia is a self-declared entity by Anglophone separatists seeking independence from Cameroon, with rebels engaged in conflict since 2017.
