Davido Becomes a Voting Member of the Recording Academy Ahead of 2026 Grammy Awards
Nigerian superstar Davido has officially joined the Recording Academy as a voting member ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards.
With this new role, the Afrobeats icon will have a voice in the voting process that determines who takes home music’s most prestigious honors. Describing the opportunity as a “gamechanger,” Davido expressed excitement about being part of the Academy’s decision-making body.
In a video message, he explained, “I’ve learned that voting gives you the power to shape what gets recognized each season.” He also shared his gratitude for being admitted into the Academy and said he looks forward to casting his first votes.
The singer, who received three nominations at the 2024 Grammys, is now set to contribute to the process that defines global recognition in music.
