Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid Lead Nominations for 2024 AAEA Awards
Nigerian music superstars Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid have garnered the most nominations for the 2024 Africa Arts Entertainments Awards (AAEA). Davido leads with twelve nominations, followed by Burna Boy with ten, and Wizkid with seven.
All three artists are vying for top honors in categories such as AAEA Best Continental Male Artiste and AAEA Continental Artiste of the Year.Other notable nominees include Rema, Tems, Omah Lay, Yemi Alade, Asake, Tiwa Savage, Simi Kosoko, Majeed, Lojay, Ayra Starr, and Kizz Daniel.
The AAEA celebrates the achievements of African music artists, recognizing their talent and success across various categories, including Best Continental Male Artiste, Continental Artiste of the Year, Continental Album/EP of the Year, Best Continental Int’l Feature, Best Continental Afro RnB Hit, and Best Continental Afro Rap Fusion Hit. This year’s awards ceremony is set to take place on August 17 in Kenya.

Tiwa Savage Says Her Music Journey Is Far From Over
Tiwa Savage, Nigerian singer, reveals that she still has a long way in her music career. The singer shares that she has no plans to leave music anytime soon.
While speaking at a conference she shared “I’m at a point where I have the platform, the relationships, and the credibility to build something real. A proper, structured, lasting initiative. That combination doesn’t come early in your career. It comes when you’ve done the work, built the trust, and earned the right to put your name on something and have it mean something. That’s where I am now. And that’s why now.”
She shared that she is representing a generation of young African creatives to help them believe in their own future.

Nollywood Actress Beverly Osu Says She Deserves to Be a Billionaire
Beverly Osu, Nigerian actress, shares that she believes she is not being paid enough with how hard she works.
She shares her belief that she should be a billionaire by now based on her hard work.
She made this about it by stating “I have worked so hard, my portfolio is enough to make me a billionaire not just in Nigeria but in Africa. I am a very humble person but I know that my portfolio is enough to make me a billionaire.”
She then added that she is trying her best to fight for better wages.

Rihanna Safe After Gunshots Reported Outside Her Residence
It was reported that a gunshot was heard around the home of popular singer Rihanna.
Reports later shared that a 35-year-old woman was arrested for suspicion of the gunshots heard. It can be noted that the gunshots were heard on Sunday at 13:15.
Reports also shared that the singer was home at that time. Fortunately, she was uninjured and was fine. The suspect was driving a white Tesla and shot while driving by.
