Afrobeats superstar, Davido, whose full name is David Adeleke, has extended his congratulations to former U.S. President Donald Trump following his re-election as the 47th President of the United States.

The singer took to his social media platform, X, to publicly acknowledge Trump’s victory, while also sending heartfelt words of support to Vice President Kamala Harris, who did not win the presidency this time around.

In his message, Davido commended Harris for her strength and accomplishments, referring to her as a “solid woman.”

He expressed that while the election did not go in her favor, she should hold her head high for all that she has achieved.

His words were a gesture of respect for her groundbreaking political career, particularly as the first woman, first Black woman, and first woman of South Asian descent to hold the office of Vice President.

What made the post even more significant was that Davido revealed that this election marked his first time ever voting in a U.S. presidential election.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, the Nigerian singer has long held dual citizenship in the U.S. and Nigeria.
