From Bus Conductor to Nollywood Star: Ibrahim Chatta Reveals His Tough Journey
Nollywood star Ibrahim Chatta recently opened up about the difficult path he had to take before finding success in the movie industry.
In a conversation on the Talk to B Podcast, hosted by fellow actress Biola Bayo, Ibrahim detailed the immense challenges he faced while trying to survive in Lagos.
Sharing a glimpse of his early life, the talented actor revealed that he once lived in a cramped single-room apartment with nine other people.
The struggle to make ends meet was so intense that he often walked long distances, particularly from Agege to Ikeja.
For eight years, Ibrahim worked tirelessly as a bus conductor, moving through some of Lagos’ busiest routes, such as Iyana Oba, Oshodi, and Lagos Island (popularly known as Eko).
“I’ve worked from Iyana Oba to Oshodi, then Eko. It wasn’t easy,” he confessed. “I’ve worked so hard in life. May God crown my effort.”
Lagos, known for its vibrant yet chaotic transport system, is not an easy place to hustle, especially as a conductor.
The routes Ibrahim mentioned are some of the most hectic in the city. For context, Iyana Oba is a bustling area near the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, known for its gridlocks and crowds.
Oshodi, a major transport hub, is infamous for its chaos, with buses, traders, and commuters filling every available space.
Meanwhile, Eko (Lagos Island) represents the heart of the city’s business activities, full of daily hustlers trying to earn a living.
