D’banj Surprises Lagos Commuters with Free Concert and Fare Coverage on BRT
Nigerian music icon Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known by his stage name D’banj, recently gave commuters in Lagos an unforgettable experience as he brought music and joy to their daily routine.
The popular singer boarded the Lagos Blue Line Train and a BRT bus, much to the surprise of the passengers, who were treated to an impromptu live performance and acts of kindness.
In a video that has now gone viral on social media, D’banj is seen mingling with the passengers, even dancing with an elderly woman on the train.
The energy was electric as fellow commuters joined in, singing along to one of the tracks from his latest album, The Entertainer.
The atmosphere quickly turned into a lively mini-concert, with everyone aboard caught up in the excitement of the moment.
D’banj’s journey took him from Leventis bus stop to Marina train station and then on to the National Theatre station, with passengers revelling in the unique experience.
But the star didn’t stop there. In a touching gesture, he covered the transport fare for the commuters, generously topping up their Cowry Cards to ensure their trip was on him.
This unexpected act of generosity and entertainment left a lasting impression on those present, with many praising D’banj for not only brightening their day but also for giving back in such a thoughtful way.
The event has sparked widespread attention online, with fans applauding the singer for his down-to-earth nature and willingness to connect with everyday Lagosians in such a meaningful way.
