The State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, revealed this during a press briefing on the Command’s activities since he assumed office on September 14, 2024.

According to CP Eribo, the arrest was made on September 26, 2024, when police operatives on patrol along Stadium Road, Uyo, intercepted Michael Effiong, a dismissed police officer in full uniform.

Effiong, who was dismissed from the force in 2011, was unable to explain why he was still wearing a police uniform. Various police items were recovered from him.
