Nigerian gospel artist Mercy Chinwo has stated her legal team regarding the ongoing lawsuit against her former label boss, Ezekiel ThankGod, widely known as Eezee Concept.

In the statement posted on her Instagram, Chinwo shared details of her journey with Eezee Concept, starting as a background singer before becoming a signed artist.

She revealed that she signed her first contract in 2017, but later discovered that the dates on the contract were altered to 2019.

Chinwo further disclosed that Eezee Concept proposed extending her initial five-year contract to 12 years, which she rejected due to her career plans.

However, four years into the agreement, Chinwo claims the working relationship turned toxic, with her being subjected to verbal and emotional abuse.

According to Chinwo, Eezee Concept would make threatening statements like, “I will deal with you, I will mess you up, I made you who you are. I can shut you up, and nobody will hear you again, and I will destroy your career.”

She also alleged that the label owner misled event organizers about her availability, complicating her professional engagements.

Chinwo clarified that she did not file the lawsuit to demand ownership of her music catalogue, but instead sought the release of the original contract documents, specifically the first three pages and the execution page of the altered 2017 contract, to make them public.
