The arrest was brought to light by Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), who shared the information via his X platform on Tuesday.
According to Sowore, the arrest took place on Monday evening in Sokoto State. Sanusi is alleged to have been involved in the printing and distribution of materials related to the protests.
Sowore condemned the actions of the DSS, describing them as unlawful, and called for Sanusi’s immediate release.
Sowore’s statement highlighted that Sanusi was apprehended in the Sama Road area of Sokoto, and he urged the DSS to promptly release him.
The incident has sparked further discussion about the ongoing issues of governance in Nigeria and the response of state authorities to dissent and activism.
