Dubai Princess Announces Divorce from Husband via Instagram Post

A Dubai princess has announced her divorce from her husband through an Instagram post.
On Wednesday, July 17, Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of Dubai’s current ruler, shared a message on her verified Instagram account: “Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce.”
This surprising declaration comes just a year after she married Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum.
In her post, Sheikha Mahra, 30, invoked the Islamic practice of triple talaq, stating, “I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you.”
The announcement comes two months after Sheikha Mahra gave birth to their daughter. She had previously shared photos of her newborn’s hands and herself cuddling her baby on Instagram.
The princess has since deleted all pictures of her husband from her Instagram feed, and he has done the same on his account.
According to Grazia magazine, Sheikha Mahra confirmed her marriage to Sheikh Mana in May 2023, following their engagement announcement in March. The couple hosted a lavish wedding reception in Dubai last June.
Sheikha Mahra announced her pregnancy in October 2023 through an Instagram Stories post featuring a mammogram photo with the caption, “Just the three of us,” accompanied by two white heart emojis.
