Edo Deputy Governor Shaibu Accuses Obaseki of Lawlessness, Claims He Played Key Role in Governor’s Rise
Edo State’s Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has publicly criticized Governor Godwin Obaseki for failing to acknowledge his court-ordered reinstatement, claiming he was instrumental in Obaseki’s political ascent.
In an interview, Shaibu asserted that it was his resources and political influence that helped secure Obaseki’s governorship.
The strained relationship between the two worsened after Shaibu’s impeachment was overturned, leading to accusations of lawlessness against Obaseki and continued legal battles over Shaibu’s position. The Edo State House of Assembly has appealed the court’s ruling.
