Emmys 2025 Happening This Sunday as Severance Leads With Most Nominations
The countdown is on as television’s biggest night draws closer. The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Fans can catch the ceremony on CBS or stream it on Paramount+, making sure no one misses out on the glitz and suspense of who takes home TV’s top honors.
This year’s host is stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze, who will bring his laid-back humor to guide viewers through a night packed with big wins, emotional speeches, and maybe a few surprises.
When it comes to nominations, the competition is fierce. Severance leads the charge with a staggering 27 nods, putting Apple TV+ in the spotlight. Not far behind is The Penguin, scoring 24 nominations, while comedy newcomer The Studio grabbed 23, a huge feat for a freshman series. The White Lotus, a consistent Emmy favorite, also secured 23 nominations, ensuring it remains in the thick of the race.
Earlier this month, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place on September 6 and 7, honoring achievements in technical fields like production design, editing, and costume design. Those wins often hint at which shows have momentum going into the main ceremony.
