Ex-Councillor Arrested in Delta State for Alleged Kidnap Plot

The Delta State Police Command has arrested Ndubisi Okechukwu, a former councillor for Emu-Uno in Kwale Local Government Area, over an alleged attempt to kidnap a prominent woman in Abbi community.

According to the State Police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, Okechukwu’s arrest followed credible intelligence received by the Abbi Division’s DPO, Florence Onum.

Acting on this tip, police launched a discreet investigation, which led to Okechukwu’s arrest on October 21.

During interrogation, the ex-councillor reportedly confessed to the plot, explaining that he planned to abduct the woman, believing that the local government, with whom she was closely connected, would pay a ransom.
