Federal Government Officially Bans Sachet Alcohol and 200ml PET Bottles
It has been reported that the Federal Government has officially caused the ban of sachet alcohol and 200ml PET bottles.
A statement was released and derived that these products have worsened society by “destabilizing communities, worsening unemployment, and triggering avoidable security challenges.”
“The continued sealing of warehouses and de facto banning of sachet alcohol products is already creating economic disruptions and poses a growing security threat, particularly given the impact on employment, supply chains, and informal distribution networks across the country.”
This act is done in order to improve cleanliness and safety in society and to promote employment, not harm people.

Kwara Government Reacts to Lassa Fever Claims Involving NYSC Member
Kwara state releases official statement and denies the ongoing rumors about Nysc corps member dying from Lassa fever in Nysc camp.
The statement was released by the information officer in the ministry of health, Kwara state. Stating that there were no cases of Lassa fever among the corps member or staff or near the camp.
It can be noted that this rumor started after an Nysc member fell ill then passed away at the hospital. rumors then circulated that it was Lassa fever in which the government has assured it is not true.

Lagos Police React to Alleged Extortion of Dispatch Riders on Coastal Road
Lagos State Police react to claims of them taking money from dispatch riders on the Coastal Road in Lagos.
It started after a rumour was shared that police arrest and take money from riders as a demand for high bribes, sometimes reaching ₦200,000, and seize motorcycles if not given.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, then addressed the claims online and stated in his statement that he disagreed that the rumour is true and stated, “The spread of misinformation only causes more harm than good. In this era, we can and must do better.”

Ogun State Declares Tuesday Public Holiday to Mark 50th Anniversary
It has been announced by the governor of Ogun that Tuesday 3rd of February is a public holiday in order to mark the 50th anniversary of the state creation.
This public holiday declaration was released in a statement by the secretary of the state, Tokunbo Talabi.
He then added that the holiday will provide as a day for the citizens to participate in the activities for the state milestone.
