Ferdinand Says Man United Should Keep Ruben Amorim Despite Struggles
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has weighed in on the debate surrounding Rúben Amorim’s future at Old Trafford, making it clear that he doesn’t believe sacking the manager is the right move.
United have struggled under the 38-year-old Portuguese coach this season, failing to find consistency. They currently sit 15th in the Premier League, just 12 points above the relegation zone and 15 points behind fourth place.
Amorim, who took over in November after Erik ten Hag’s departure, has won only four league matches, leading to growing doubts about his ability to turn things around.
Despite the mounting pressure, Ferdinand believes Amorim deserves more time.
During a Q&A session on his X account, a fan asked whether United should part ways with their manager or back him in the transfer window with better signings. Ferdinand’s response was clear and direct: “No – coach stays!”
