The Federal Government has approved an upward review of the fees for the Nigerian Passport effective from 1st September 2024.

The spokesman of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), DCI Kenneth Udo, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, adding that the move was part of the efforts to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.

According to Udo, the price hike is aimed at ensuring the quality and integrity of the Nigerian passport. The cost of the 32-page passport with a five-year validity will rise from N35,000 to N50,000.

Likewise, the 64-page passport with a 10-year validity will increase from N70,000 to N100,000. He also mentioned that fees for Nigerians living abroad will remain the same.

While the NIS acknowledged the inconvenience this may cause, they reiterated their commitment to delivering transparent and quality services to citizens.
