FIFA Investigation Ends as DR Congo Secures 2026 World Cup Play-Off Spot
The FIFA investigation has officially ended, with DR Congo confirmed to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup inter-confederation play-off tournament.
It can be recalled that following DR Congo’s match against Nigeria, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) called for a further investigation, alleging that DR Congo failed to comply with certain regulations. The appeal was made in hopes of overturning the decision and boosting Nigeria’s chances.
However, with FIFA’s confirmation, DR Congo progresses forward while the Super Eagles miss out on the 2026 World Cup play-off opportunity.
