Forbes Names Davido Africa’s Richest Artist, Sparks Fan Debate
Forbes has named Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido the richest artist in Africa for 2024, sparking debate among fans. The American business magazine also included other entertainment heavyweights like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Rema, and Don Jazzy in the top five.
\Davido led with an estimated net worth of $100 million, followed by Don Jazzy at $50 million, Burna Boy with $30 million, Wizkid at $25 million, and Rema with $15 million.
The ranking surprised many Nigerians, as fans of Wizkid and Burna Boy were unhappy with Davido taking the top spot. Rema’s inclusion, moving him into the “Big Four” of Nigerian music, further fueled conversations. The Forbes list has intensified existing rivalries, particularly between Davido and Wizkid, whose recent online feud has been a major topic on social media.

Moses Bliss has now issued an apology, saying “I sincerely apologize to every graphic designer who felt disrespected or undervalued… that was never my intention.”
He added “The goal was to give creatives a platform to showcase their work, not to undermine their value.”
