Gospel Artist and Radio Host Big Bolaji Dies at 50 After Brief Illness

Nigerian gospel artist and radio host Bolaji Olarewaju, widely known as Big Bolaji, has passed away. His family confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement released on Saturday, revealing that he died after a short illness.
Described as a beloved husband, father, brother, and an influential figure in both the gospel music scene and the church, Bolaji was an ordained pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
He died on Easter Saturday, April 19, 2025. Big Bolaji had recently marked his 50th birthday, a milestone many celebrated with him.
He started his journey in gospel music with the group J’apha and over the years, became a voice that inspired many through his music and radio talk shows. The family says arrangements for his burial will be announced soon.

Davido’s Timeless Album Hits 100k Sales in the UK and Earns Silver Certification

Nigerian music star Davido, known by his real name David Adeleke, has earned a Silver Certification in the UK for his hit album Timeless. The album made waves across major streaming platforms like Spotify Nigeria, Boomplay, Audiomack, and YouTube, smashing records and setting new milestones.
Music stats platform Chart Data revealed that Timeless received the certification after surpassing 100,000 unit sales in the UK. The project didn’t just stop at commercial success. It also brought Davido a Headies nomination for ‘Song of the Year’ and two Grammy nods of ‘Best Global Album’ and ‘Best Global Music Performance’.
After dropping the album in March 2023, Davido took the excitement worldwide with his Timeless Tour, performing for fans across different continents.
