Gospel Singer Sinach Being Sued Over Co-owner Rights Of Famous Hit “Way Maker”

Nigerian Gospel Singer, Sinach is currently facing a 5 billion Naira lawsuit filed by music producer, Michael Oluwole also known as Maye. Maye sues Sinach over her hit song “Way Maker” which was released in 2016.

In the suit numbered FHC/L/CS/402/2024, Maye’s reason for this law suit is his claim of being the author and co-owner of the song and demand 5 Billion Naira. The music producer aims to collect the demand for damages to his rights as the co-owner.

The trial for this case was scheduled for November 27th, 2024 but has been moved to January 29th and 30th, 2025. This is to give the two parties time to collect evidence and defense materials.

Nigerian skit maker, Carter Efe laments about his social media handles being taken away from him.

It can be noted that the skit maker recently criticized Singer Davido, he stated on his page “If Wizkid calls me my G, that means Lion don get belle. E no fit happen. That boy too get pride, idiot.”

After his criticism, the skit maker noticed he lost access to his social media pages and commented that it has been taken. “FC una collect my Instagram account of 1.8 million followers.”

Made Kuti Questions Value of Selflessness in Activism for Nigeria

Afrobeat singer Made Kuti speaks on people and his family that has joined an activism in order to better the country.

He shared how most of his family members have tried their best and fought for the country, however they did not still get the change they hoped for.

He expresses that selflessness for the country can sometimes be in vain. “Selflessness, I’m very careful with that. Giving and getting nothing in return. I’m of the opinion that we [Kuti’s family] have done enough already.”

“And I’ve really no interest in activism. I’m happy to be at the right side of history, but not at the cost of the wellbeing of my family and the people around me.”
