“When I represented my country at the Olympics in Brazil, we faced delays because there was no flight available. We spent the entire day at the airport, waiting for a plane to take us to Brazil, but it never came. This was due to disputes over who would cover the travel costs.
The football association (FA) didn’t want to take responsibility for the expenses. Although the government released the funds, the FA or the person who received the money refused to allocate it. So, we were stranded at the airport all day with no flight available. In the end, I had to personally cover the cost to ensure we got to Brazil. These are just some of the challenges we faced.”
