“I Want to Sign You and Make You the Best” – Neymar Recalls Guardiola’s Offer

Neymar has shared an interesting story about how Pep Guardiola once tried to sign him for Bayern Munich and even made a bold promise to him.
The Brazilian forward revealed that after winning the Puskás Award, he was nearly convinced to move to the Bundesliga because of Guardiola’s influence.
“I almost went to Bayern because of Pep Guardiola. After I won the Puskás Award, my dad kept calling me at 2 AM. When I finally answered, he told me to open the door. I was in my boxers,” Neymar recalled.
To his surprise, his father was standing there with Guardiola and a translator. The legendary coach wasted no time and got straight to the point.
“Pep told me, ‘I want to sign you and take you with me wherever I go. I will make you the best player in the world,’” Neymar said.
Guardiola even brought a laptop, showing Neymar exactly where he would fit into his plans. Then he added a humorous challenge: “If you don’t score 60 goals in a season, I’ll change my name.”
At that moment, Neymar was intrigued but still uncertain. When he asked which club Guardiola was talking about, Pep couldn’t reveal it yet.
“I convinced him to tell me, and he finally said, ‘I’m signing with Bayern. I know it’s a cold city, but I’ll take care of you.’”
In the end, Neymar chose Barcelona instead, a decision that shaped his career. Since then, he has played for PSG and now Al-Hilal.

Fans Mock Neymar and Say He Will Never Win the Ballon d’Or

Neymar Jr. faced heavy mockery from Sport Recife fans during their 2-2 clash with Santos over the weekend, with many taunting him over his chances of ever winning the Ballon d’Or.
The Brazilian star, who returned to Santos earlier this year after a difficult stint at Al-Hilal, was targeted throughout the match. Fans brought loudspeakers, wore masks of his ex-girlfriend and actress Bruna Marquezine, and held banners aimed at rattling the former Barcelona and PSG forward.
One bold banner read, “Will never have the Ballon d’Or,” a jab that seemed to hit home as Neymar failed to contribute any goals or assists during the game. Recife supporters did everything they could to throw him off his game.

Inter Milan Set 3-Day Deadline to Decide on Ademola Lookman Transfer

Inter Milan president Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that the next few days will be vital in their pursuit of Ademola Lookman from Atalanta. The Italian giants are eager to strengthen their frontline this summer, and Lookman has emerged as a top target. But talks between both Serie A clubs have reportedly been slow and far from straightforward.
Speaking recently, Marotta admitted that things need to move quickly if a deal is to happen. “This week is crucial for the Lookman deal,” he said. “We’re in talks and we really want him, but we also respect Atalanta. If things don’t progress in the next two or three days, we’ll have to shift our focus to other options.”

Mascherano Angry as Messi Misses Home Game After Suspension

Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano has voiced his frustration over Lionel Messi’s suspension, calling out Major League Soccer for what he sees as inconsistent treatment. The Argentine legend missed Inter Miami’s goalless draw against FC Cincinnati on Saturday, a match where his absence was strongly felt.
Speaking after the game at Chase Stadium, Mascherano, who once played alongside Messi at Barcelona, didn’t hold back his feelings about the league’s decision. He questioned the timing of the suspension, pointing out that Messi had played numerous matches without complaints, especially when his presence helped sell tickets and pack stadiums.
“But now that we have a home game, he’s suddenly suspended? Would this have happened if we were playing away?” Mascherano asked, clearly irritated by the situation. His comments followed MLS’ announcement just a day before the match, confirming that Messi had been suspended for missing the All-Star Game, along with teammate Jordi Alba.
Both players were part of the All-Star squad but opted not to participate, which led to a one-match ban under league rules. Mascherano hinted at double standards, suggesting the league was more interested in profits than fairness.
