‘I Was Sick and Weak’ — Simi Shares Why She Delayed New Song with Chike
Nigerian singer Simi has revealed her personal struggles while working on her latest song, “Where You Dey,” featuring Chike.
The singer shared that she experienced health issues and couldn’t release the song as planned last year.
She wrote “I really, really, really wanted to drop this song last year. When I first put out the snippet, I was so excited, but it was hard to finish it on time because everything was a blur.”
She added “I was sick and weak and nauseous and tired, and my body just wouldn’t do what I wanted it to. Even in the snippet video, I wasn’t feeling great. I was just trying my best.”

The singer shared this in a recent podcast “I have been cancelled for a long time. People think I am not cancelled because I am doing well. Nigeria has cancelled me for a long time, but Nigeria is just like a really small percentage of my market. So, being cancelled doesn’t really affect me.”
