Ibadan Court Adjourns Divorce Case as Husband Accuses Wife of Drunkenness, Violence
The Grade A Customary Court in Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, has adjourned a divorce case filed by Saka against his wife, Sadia, on grounds of alleged irresponsibility, drunkenness, and domestic violence.
Saka expressed that his marriage had caused him frustration and unhappiness, prompting him to seek a divorce.
In response, Sadia shared her grievances, claiming Saka provided her with only N200 daily for food, while his own store remained stocked.
She described him as controlling, stating he restricted her interactions within the neighborhood and withheld food from her.
Sadia agreed to the divorce and requested the court’s assistance in securing alternative accommodation, explaining she had no other place to store her belongings.
The court president, Mrs. S.M. Akintayo, heard both parties and has adjourned the case for judgment.
