“Ignorance is Not Godly” – Seyi Shay Slams Church Minister Over Hymns Rule
Nigerian singer Seyi Shay shares why she stopped going to her former church. The singer takes to social media to lament on the new rule a minister brought in to church.
“One leader like dat at my former church said something like, ‘we need to stop singing all these new age gospel songs in praise and worship and go back to singing hymns and only songs that are direct scriptures.”
“I don’t know how or why you would feel blessed and happy by singing some of the songs that slave owners wrote and forced them to sing and pass down through generations while bearing and torturing your ancestors. Makes no sense. Do your research! Ignorance is not Godly!”

In a recent interview with Korty EO, the singer shared that it was against his father to pursue music. His mother then recalled how he came to turn them down on studying abroad and stated he wanted to stay and learn in Nigeria.
