Isaac Fayose Declares Himself PDP Chairman Suspends Atiku and G5 Members

Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, made a bold declaration by naming himself the new National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
In a surprising move, he also announced the suspension of several prominent figures within the party, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Rivers State Minister Nyesom Wike, his brother Ayo Fayose, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and other members of the G5 group.
Isaac Fayose, known for his outspoken nature, stated that his actions were aimed at reshaping the party’s leadership and direction.
He expressed confidence in his authority, indicating that anyone dissatisfied with the suspensions could take legal action, saying, “If you are not happy, you should go to court.”
His declaration comes amid growing internal divisions within the PDP, particularly among key stakeholders and members of the G5, a faction of governors who have often voiced dissent against the party’s mainstream decisions.
This announcement has added further tension to the already fractured party, as the suspended members, especially figures like Atiku Abubakar and Nyesom Wike, have been central to PDP’s leadership and influence in national politics.
Isaac Fayose’s self-appointment and suspension decision is likely to fuel ongoing disputes within the party, as many await the next steps from both the suspended individuals and other key party figures.
Fayose’s bold move underscores the power struggles within the PDP and highlights the deepening rift among its leadership as the party grapples with internal conflicts and strategic decisions.
The implications of this development will likely shape the future of the party, as it navigates through these challenging dynamics.

APC Says Nothing Will Stop Tinubu from Winning a Second Term in 2027

APC chieftain Farouk Adamu Aliyu has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure a second term in 2027. Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Aliyu dismissed the strength of the opposition, stressing that the president’s return is certain.
He admitted that while many Nigerians tend to blame Tinubu for every national problem, leadership comes with complexities that people often overlook. Drawing from past administrations, he acknowledged that some of the criticisms directed at former President Goodluck Jonathan were not entirely fair, noting that the office of the president requires caution and balance.

Wike Tells Jonathan Not To Run For President In 2027 Election

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has cautioned former President Goodluck Jonathan against considering a return to the presidential race in 2027.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Wike said Jonathan risked being misled once again by the same political figures who, according to him, betrayed him in 2015. He stressed that Jonathan already enjoys global respect and should protect that legacy instead of allowing himself to be drawn into another political trap.
“These are the same people who worked against him back then, and now they want to push him forward again just to create confusion,” Wike said, questioning the political strength of those calling for Jonathan’s comeback.
The FCT Minister also made it clear that he has no interest in running for president in 2027. He explained that his loyalty lies with President Bola Tinubu, who appointed him, and that contesting against Tinubu would go against his principles.
“I value integrity and character. I cannot say Tinubu should seek re-election and then turn around to declare my own ambition. That would be wrong. Even my children would question such a move. I will not contest for president,” Wike stated.

APC Says Goodluck Jonathan Cannot Defeat Tinubu If He Runs in 2027

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed speculations that former President Goodluck Jonathan could challenge and defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement on Friday, the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, said while Jonathan deserves credit for overseeing a peaceful transition of power in 2015, his return to the presidential race would not pose any real threat to Tinubu.
He argued that Nigeria has moved past politics built on emotions and nostalgia. Also, he stressed that the country now needs bold, forward-looking leadership to tackle present challenges. According to him, Jonathan’s administration between 2010 and 2015 left behind serious structural problems. These problems includes rising corruption, insecurity, and economic stagnation.
Oladejo also highlighted legal and political hurdles that could surround a possible Jonathan comeback. Having already served more than one term, he said any attempt at another run would spark constitutional debates and potential instability at a time when Nigeria needs focus and unity.
He further noted that Jonathan’s political relevance is uncertain, pointing to his mixed signals in recent years, ranging from his quiet engagements with the APC to his lack of active involvement in rebuilding the PDP. These moves, he said, cast doubt on the former president’s loyalty and political direction.
