Super Eagles Coach, Eric Chelle reveals that it will be difficult to convince Ethan Nwaneri to play for the team.

Ethan Nwaneri is a recent player for England but ca still play for Nigeria as his Nigerian Father married his English Mother. The player still has a chance to play for Nigeria, However Chelle stated that it might not be easy.

Speaking to the media the Super Eagles coach shared his thoughts “During my trip to England, to meet with Super Eagles stars, I said I would want Nwaneri to play for Nigeria.”

“I want the NFF to talk to him, and then I will also speak with him. It will be hard because England will also want to cap him at full international level.”

He shared that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is hopeful about hearing from them after they submitted a petition against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

“I mean we’re still waiting, well hopefully we can go to the World Cup, but I feel it’s a tough one.

“It’s a tough one because winning AFCON is like… It’s a great legacy, it’s a great thing to have in your career, a memorable moment. But then at the same time, because I’ve been to the World Cup already, a lot of the players haven’t been.”
