Dr. Sambo Shehu, the Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, highlighted the dire situation during a meeting with agency staff.

Describing the crisis as life-threatening, he stressed the urgent need for swift and effective measures to protect the lives of vulnerable children struggling with malnutrition.

As part of the agency’s strategic priorities for 2025, Dr. Shehu outlined plans to strengthen routine immunizations, improve antenatal and delivery services, and intensify efforts to address malnutrition across the state.

“No, I don’t think many people will blame the Tinubu administration for what is happening now because President Donald Trump, when he first made the threats, it was clearly not in coordination with the Tinubu administration or the government of Nigeria,” Jega said.
