John Cena Announces WWE Retirement
Professional wrestler John Cena has announced his departure from WWE. Making the announcement at WWE Money in the Bank in Toronto, Canada, the 16-time world champion revealed that he will retire from the sport in 2025.
John detailed that his final appearances will include the 2025 Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, launching his ‘John Cena Farewell Tour 2025’. Reflecting on his over two decades in WWE, he acknowledged both the highs and lows, expressing gratitude for the current success of WWE while recalling times of adversity.
Additionally, John expressed interest in participating as WWE Raw transitions to Netflix in January. Since his debut in 2002, Cena has shifted to a more part-time role since 2018 to focus on his burgeoning movie career.

“It’s a tough one because winning AFCON is like… It’s a great legacy, it’s a great thing to have in your career, a memorable moment. But then at the same time, because I’ve been to the World Cup already, a lot of the players haven’t been.”
