John Obi Mikel Reveals Romelu Lukaku’s Punctuality Issues at Chelsea
Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has disclosed that Romelu Lukaku was frequently late to training sessions and matches during his initial period with the Premier League club.
Mikel made this revelation during a recent visit to Chelsea’s Cobham Arena, which was featured on The Obi One Podcast.
According to Mikel, Lukaku, who joined Chelsea as a young striker in 2011, initially struggled with punctuality.
Mikel described Lukaku as a “lovely guy” and mentioned that after having a conversation with him, Lukaku recognized the need to improve his timekeeping.
Mikel noted that Lukaku took the feedback seriously and subsequently made significant improvements in his punctuality, eventually becoming more reliable.

Chelsea’s Mudryk Faces Four Year Ban After Court Decision
It has been reported that a four-year ban has been placed on Chelsea’s player, Mykhailo Mudryk, for anti-doping violations.
The player appealed in court on February 25 but has now been handed his punishment, which is a four-year ban from football.
It can be recalled that his last appearance on the field was on November 28, 2024.
