Juventus manager Thiago Motta has shed light on how his team managed to secure a crucial 2-0 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The match, held at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, saw goals from Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie seal the win for the Italian giants against Pep Guardiola’s formidable side.

After the game, Motta praised his players’ commitment, attributing the victory to a combination of tactical discipline, teamwork, and sheer determination.

The Juventus boss acknowledged the challenge of facing a team like Manchester City, known for their relentless possession and attacking style.

“We knew we would have to defend deeper than usual, but we did it together. It was all about unity and timing.

When we attacked, we did it as a team and struck when the opportunity came,” he explained.

Dusan Vlahovic, who has been a key player for Juventus since joining from Fiorentina, opened the scoring with a clinical finish.

Motta also took a moment to acknowledge the return of several players from injury.

Former Chelsea star Florent Malouda believes Victor Osimhen would be a fantastic addition to the club as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of next season. With Nicolas Jackson struggling to impress consistently, Chelsea are reportedly targeting a new frontman—and Osimhen is high on their list.

Although a move for the Nigerian striker nearly happened last season, wage demands stalled the deal. Still, Malouda hopes the transfer can finally go through this time. “The connection between Osimhen and Chelsea is strong,” Malouda told Racing Tipster. “We’ve had top African players at the club in the past, and I believe Osimhen can lead the next wave.”

He added that Osimhen wouldn’t just be good for the team but could also push Jackson to improve his game. “We need a striker who can score 20 or more goals a season, and Osimhen is that kind of player,” Malouda said. “He’d be a great signing and a major boost for Maresca’s side.”

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has praised Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo for their impact in the club’s 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League semi-final second leg at Old Trafford. Mount scored twice, while Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund added one each to seal the dominant win and send United into the final.

Amorim, speaking after the match, expressed his joy at seeing Mount and Mainoo come off the bench to help turn the game around. “I’m really happy for Mason,” Amorim said. “And I liked what I saw from Kobbie too. Sometimes you come off the bench and completely change the game.” He went on to highlight Mount’s work ethic and versatility.

“When you have someone like Mason who trains hard, eats right, takes his recovery seriously—you just want to support him,” he said. “He’s ideal for that role. He can control the midfield and also run like a winger.” Up next, Manchester United will meet Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final later this month.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca was full of praise for teenage midfielder Reggie Walsh after the Blues sealed a 1-0 win over Djurgarden in the Europa Conference League semi-final second leg on Thursday.

The 16-year-old made his first senior start for Chelsea, slotting into Maresca’s system seamlessly. A first-half goal from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall proved enough to secure the victory at Stamford Bridge, sending Chelsea to the final with a 5-1 aggregate win.

They will now face Real Betis in the final later this month. Betis edged Fiorentina 4-3 across both legs in their own semi-final clash. Speaking after the game, Maresca shared his thoughts on Walsh’s standout performance.

“He was smiling, relaxed, and just enjoying himself,” Maresca said. “I told him to play like he does in training. You could see he wasn’t scared, just confident.” The Chelsea boss added, “Reggie fits perfectly into the way I want my team to play. At just 16, the way he demanded the ball and handled possession was impressive.”

Maresca also gave a lighthearted reminder of Walsh’s age: “Tomorrow, he still has to go to school—but there’s no doubt he’s a very talented player.” Chelsea return to Premier League action this weekend as they prepare to take on Newcastle United.
