Kanayo O. Kanayo Critiques Military Presence in Southeast Nigeria
Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has raised concerns about the heavy presence of military and police in Southeast Nigeria and how it affects travelers. In a video posted on Instagram on October 23, 2024, he compared his quick trip from Ibadan to Lagos, where he saw no checkpoints, to the frustrating travel experience in the Southeast, which is filled with checkpoints.
Kanayo explained, “I left Ibadan at 7:15 AM and got to Lagos by 8:15 AM without seeing any police or army checkpoints. Have you counted the checkpoints on the Onitsha-Enugu road?” He questioned why the Southeast is so heavily militarized, stating, “You can’t travel more than 200 kilometers without hitting a checkpoint.”
He also pointed out the humiliation and delays caused by these checkpoints, where travelers often have to get out of their vehicles with their hands raised. Kanayo called for action, asking, “Is the Southeast still part of Nigeria? Have our representatives seen the condition of the federal roads?”
It has been reported that a home break-in at the residence of famous American actor Brad Pitt has occurred. Luckily for the actor, he is currently on tour with the press for his latest movie, “F1: The Movie,” so the suspect did not encounter him.
Investigators are currently on the case to find the culprit and are tightening the security of the actor’s home, according to reports.
The investigators initially revealed that it was three different suspects who broke into the actor’s home and fled the scene after causing damage. Brad Pitt and his team have yet to comment on the incident as further investigation proceeds.
Nigerian content creator Egungun of Lagos takes to social media to celebrate his wife’s birthday. The creator shared a heartfelt birthday wish to his wife, Pashotah, on his Instagram page, which touched a lot of fans’ hearts.
He then recalled the first time he was even trying to find a girl and appreciated that he now has a wife:
“Ten years ago, I was asked by a friend to find him a girl from YabaTech because he had more money than me.”
“Honestly, I had no idea I would end up marrying the very girl I introduced to him. He literally gave me ₦3,000 to bring you to his house in Ajah. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MY LOVE. She has really been amazing.”
Nigerian actress Kudirat Ogunro expresses appreciation and gratitude towards colleague Funke Akindele for her praise and comments about her.
The actress took to her official Instagram page to share a photo of herself with Funke Akindele and shared heartfelt messages and appreciation for her support.
“Dear Lord, as we step into July, I pray for guidance, protection, and blessings. May this month bring joy, peace, and prosperity to all. Grant us wisdom, strength, and good health. May our dreams and aspirations be fulfilled, and may we walk in faith and love. Amen.”

Fans were awed by the actresses’ friendship and wished Funke Akindele well for her kindness towards other people.
