Kidnapped Students and Staff of Federal University Gusau Released After 7 Months
Students and staff of Federal University Gusau, Zamfara, kidnapped by bandits in February 2024, have been freed after seven months in captivity. The victims were abducted during an attack in the Gusau area.
Security expert Zagazola Makama confirmed the release on Monday, September 23, 2024. He noted that security forces played a vital role in securing their freedom.
“All the abducted individuals have returned in good health,” Makama said, bringing relief to their families and the university community.
The release marks a positive end to a lengthy ordeal, with authorities continuing efforts to combat banditry in the region.
