Lamine Yamal to Wear Messi’s Famous No 10 Shirt as He Signs New Deal with Barcelona
Barcelona are preparing to give rising star Lamine Yamal the legendary No 10 jersey, once worn by Lionel Messi. This big move comes as Yamal gets ready to sign a fresh long-term deal with the club this July when he turns 18. The young forward has had an impressive season and is already being talked about as a serious Ballon d’Or contender after helping Spain win the Euros last year.
Seen as the most exciting talent to come through since Messi’s early days, Yamal is now being fully backed by the club as the face of their future. His new contract will reportedly include a staggering €1 billion release clause, showing just how much trust and value Barca have placed on him.
The No 10 shirt is currently worn by Ansu Fati, but with Fati’s future at the club uncertain, the iconic number is expected to be passed on to Yamal. So far, Yamal has worn the No 19 jersey, but with this symbolic change, he’s stepping into even bigger shoes — and Barcelona believe he’s ready.
Former English footballer, Jamie Redknapp, makes bold suggestion regarding Mohamed Salah to leave the club, Liverpool.
The suggestion came after Liverpool manager Arne Slot criticized the player — a move Redknapp called out following Salah’s benching in the last match.
The former player shared “I don’t necessarily think in January. I just think we have got to let this settle. But I don’t foresee that he will see out the two years of his contract. I think it might be more in the summer.”
