Popular Korean actor Lee Min Ho is officially returning to the big screen, and fans couldn’t be more excited. After spending recent years focused on television dramas and streaming projects, the actor is taking on a powerful new role in the much-awaited action-fantasy film Omniscient Reader. This is set to premiere in theaters on July 23, 2025. Additionally, it is based on a hugely popular web novel and webtoon of the same name, the film tells the story of a world that suddenly begins to follow the events of a book—one that only one man has read to the end.

Lee Min Ho plays Yoo Jung Hyuk, a cold and mysterious character trapped in a time loop, known for fighting his way through apocalyptic scenarios again and again. Also, joining him is rising star Ahn Hyo Seop, who makes his movie debut as Kim Dok Ja, a regular office worker who suddenly becomes the main player in a survival game that feels all too real. Also starring in the film is BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, alongside Chae Soo Bin, Shin Seung Ho, and others.

Teaser

The film’s teaser and posters have already gotten fans talking. One powerful image shows a subway train suspended in midair over a bridge—bringing a famous scene from the original story to life. Secondly, the vibe is intense, and it’s clear the production team has gone all out to capture the drama, chaos, and fantasy that fans of the novel know and love.

Directed by Kim Byung Woo, known for films like The Terror Live, the movie promises high-stakes action, bold visuals, and deep emotion. With top studios like Realize Pictures and Smilegate behind the project, expectations are sky-high. For Lee Min Ho, this marks a major return to cinema after years away, and it’s already being called one of the biggest movie events of the summer. For Ahn Hyo Seop, it’s the start of a promising movie career. Finally, for Jisoo, it’s a chance to shine in her first major film role.
