Jimmy Odukoya, Senior Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, revealed that God instructed him not to cut his dreadlocks in order to save a life. Speaking during a recent sermon, the pastor shared that he sought divine guidance about his appearance before taking on his pastoral role after the death of his father, Taiwo Odukoya.

He explained, “I asked the Lord if I should cut my hair before returning to the pulpit, and He told me not to.” Odukoya also asked his sister to pray on the matter, and when she returned with the same message, he was certain that it was God’s will.

Pastor Odukoya then recounted a powerful story about a woman from Zimbabwe who traveled to Nigeria to meet him after a vision she had in 2016. The woman explained that she had seen a man with dreadlocks speaking to her in a vision, offering guidance during a difficult time in her life.

She shared how, after enduring a tough breakup and losing everything, including her mother, she found solace in Odukoya’s sermons on YouTube. The woman said she recognized him instantly when she saw him with long hair, recalling the vision she had years earlier.

What moved Odukoya most was that he hadn’t had long hair at the time of the woman’s vision. He believed God had guided him to keep his dreadlocks, ensuring that he would be there to help her in her moment of need.

He emphasized, “God knew that at some point in 2025, this woman would need to see a man with long hair preaching to her. If I had cut it, I wouldn’t have been able to fulfill this purpose.”
