Mamadou Niang states that Calvin Bassey should replace William Troost-Ekong as the defender in the Super Eagles team.
It can be recalled that the player, William Troost-Ekong, revealed that he will be retiring from international football which came as a shock to his fans.
“He is a talented, tough defender who has very good distribution with his left foot, and athletic quality which is above average.”
“He is a player I think is a leader of the Nigeria defence, who can replace Troost-Ekong, who took this Nigerian team to the AFCON final,” speaking about Calvin Bassey.

It can be noted that reports claimed the player might transfer to Al Nassr to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
Fabrizio clarified the reports, saying “In the last 24 hours on social media, many rumours on Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, the champions of Saudi trying to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. Guys, let me clarify one thing,” Romano said.
“According to my information, Rashford is not leaving Manchester United this summer, in case of proposals that are coming from these kinds of countries.”
