Man Killed by Oncoming Train in Lagos, LASEMA Confirms
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has reported a tragic incident where a man lost his life after being struck by a train on a railway track on Monday.
This information was revealed by the agency’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, in an official statement released in Lagos.
According to Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA received an emergency call around 6:00 PM concerning the train accident that occurred along the railway line near Cappa in Lagos.
Responding swiftly to the distress call, the agency’s response team arrived at the scene and discovered an adult male lying on the track. It was determined that the man had been hit by an oncoming train while walking along the railway track.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the victim, who was partially clothed and remains unidentified, died instantly as a result of the severe impact from the collision.
The force of the train made it impossible for the man to survive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
LASEMA’s response team proceeded to bag the remains of the deceased and is now awaiting the arrival of officials from the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU), who will transport the body to the morgue for proper identification and further procedures.
This unfortunate incident highlights the dangers of walking along railway tracks, with LASEMA emphasizing the need for safety and caution in such areas.

Analyst Says Tinubu Not Responsible for Recent U.S.-Linked Airstrike Claims
Nigerian news analyst, Mahmud Jega, has shared his opinion on the recent airstrike carried out by the United States in Nigeria, stating that Nigerians should not blame President Bola Tinubu for the incident.
Jega made this statement during a recent interview, where he said he does not believe many people will hold the Tinubu administration responsible, as Donald Trump had issued threats against Nigeria long before Tinubu’s administration.
“No, I don’t think many people will blame the Tinubu administration for what is happening now because President Donald Trump, when he first made the threats, it was clearly not in coordination with the Tinubu administration or the government of Nigeria,” Jega said.
